The Stallions hosted the Chiefs of Natchitoches Central on Tuesday night on their home turf at Byrd High School. The offense struggled in the first half with three turnovers, but the defense played tough to knot the score 8-8 at the half. The Stallions had no trouble running the ball with Rodney Bradley II behind the spectacular line play led by Cayden Artrip, John Chase, Bahan Marrs, Levi Roberson, and Rand Price, but the passing game was off. McCoy Williams also had a nice pick in the second quarter to end a Natchitoches Central Drive. On the next play, quarterback Nash Alexander connected with Aiden Shonder for a 65-yard touchdown.
In the second half, the defense continued to control the game. Davis Frierson had a strip sack and recovered the fumble, and added another fumble recovery in the 3rd quarter, which led to two rushing touchdowns by Rodney Bradley and Nash Alexander. Caleb Marchand and Sir Derek Williams brought pressure on the outside all night, combining for numerous sacks and quarterback hurries. The defensive tackle unit also played well, led by Joshua Jackson, Anthony Von Behr, and John Hollis Ewing. Ezra Nugent had a sack late in the game to seal the win.
Final Score was 20-8
The Stallions' next opponent will be Linwood Middle.
Offensive players of the game were the O-line and Rodney Bradley
Defensive players of the game were Davis Frierson and John Hollis Ewing
Tough guy of the game goes to Bahan Marrs.
