
University Student Council and Administration volunteered this past Saturday at Wal-Mart on Bert Kouns for this year's Red Kettle Challenge. UES Administration saw a special visitor, Mary Tranmel School Board member for District 6! This challenge is the single largest day of giving for our local Salvation Army. Thank you for all the generous people like you and the support of our wonderful families!



Congratulations University Elementary's 5th grade robotics teams who qualified as State Finalist at the First Lego League tournament held at SciPort on Saturday, December 7. The Tech Titans and Code Crushers have advanced to the State Championship in New Orleans on January 25th. In addition, Tech Titans won 2nd place in the Core Values Award!




University parents – it's that time of the year… Our lost and found is growing. Please encourage your child to stop by the lost and found. All jackets and lost and found items will be disposed of/donated over Christmas break.



Hey Wildcats! Do you want to have your art on the cover of the yearbook? Draw a picture of what it means for YOU to be a Wildcat! Turn it in to your homeroom teacher by December 11th. All grades will vote for their favorite., Please use a standard white piece of paper and put your name and grade on the back.


Carpool Reminders for University Elementary:
Only parents of cheerleaders helping with carpool are allowed to wait in front of the school before 7am.
No children allowed to be dropped off until duty people arrive at 7am.
Carpool and fast pass are the only approved drop off areas for parents.
Do NOT drop students off in the parking lot, street, or apartment complex. This is dangerous
Students must wait for a duty person to open the car door before getting out
Staying off your cell phone helps keep the lines moving


At University we want you to come eat with your child at lunch anytime, but please be respectful of our guidelines for eating lunch at school. Any outside food from restaurants that is brought into the school must be removed from containers/wrappers with logos before entering. Also, you may only eat with your child.

Monday, December 2nd is a free dress day at University. The dress up theme is Grinch inspired attire.


University Elementary will be out of school for Thanksgiving break from Monday, November 25 to Friday, November 29th. We hope you have a joyful and restful Thanksgiving holiday.


University Spirit Night at Dillas on Bert Kouns is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19th. Part of the proceeds will go back to our school. Don't cook, come to Dillas and help support University!

The Book Fair will be open for you and your children to browse books. The Caddo parent resource center will have materials for parents. We will have food trucks for your family. There will be LSUS aspiring educator students performing animated read alouds for the kids. It promises to be a fun night for all with strategies to help with your child's academics.
